Onur Kocaoglu

Hello! I’m Onur, a Turkish professional with a background in translation. I graduated from the French-Turkish Translation department at Istanbul University. During my studies, I realised that artificial intelligence is transforming the translation industry. Inspired by marketing books, I decided to focus on digital marketing.

After a few work placements, I started as a Digital Marketing Specialist at my first proper agency. I eventually progressed to Senior Specialist and later to Team Lead, where I managed a team of three people.

After three years, I was given the opportunity to work as a Digital Marketing Consultant at one of Turkey’s largest holding companies. I was involved in strategy development and the management of digital campaigns for major brands within the holding company. After two and a half years, I realised I wanted to focus more on the technical side of the profession.

That’s why I started at Yandex Turkey as a Web Tracking Specialist and achieved some great results there. When my girlfriend, who is a researcher in chemistry, was offered an opportunity in the Netherlands, we decided to move. I left my job in Turkey and worked as a freelancer in the Netherlands for a while.

That’s how I ended up at Traffic Today , where I now work as an SEA Specialist. I help clients get the most out of their search engine advertising. Thanks to my knowledge of web analytics, I also contribute to improving data flow and data quality.

In my spare time, I enjoy being out in nature: I love camping and hiking, and I often take part in group walks. I enjoy listening to indie pop and indie rock. For five years, I practised Jeet Kune Do, a martial art that I’d like to take up again here in the Netherlands. I live in Deventer with my girlfriend.

As well as my mother tongue, Turkish, I speak fluent English and have a good command of French.
