This is Niek…
We’d like to introduce you to Niek, an experienced professional who has been working at Traffic Today for 3.5 years. As a project manager and advertising marketer, he plays a crucial role in the success of various projects within the company. Niek specialises in effectively coordinating projects and ensuring their optimal execution. Outside of work, Niek has a particular passion for football and coaching youth teams. With his love for the game and his talent for inspiring others, he passes on his passion for football coaching to young talents. His involvement in football and his experience as a project manager make Niek a valuable member of the team at Traffic Today.
Training its own football team
Niek first discovered his passion for football coaching during his secondary school years, when he had to undertake a community placement. “I enjoyed it so much that I stayed involved with the club and, the following season, started coaching my own team.” This marked the beginning of a long-standing commitment to coaching youth football teams. Niek discovered his talent for imparting knowledge and inspiring young players, which further fuelled his passion for football coaching. Since then, he has continued to develop his skills and expertise in coaching and mentoring youth teams.
Helping players to develop
For Niek, working as a team to achieve the best possible results is one of the most enjoyable aspects of coaching. “It’s great to see players developing both personally and as athletes.” Winning matches fills him with pride and strengthens the bond within the team. Niek’s passion extends beyond the football pitch; he strives to create a positive environment in which players can develop their skills, build self-confidence and learn valuable life lessons.

The team is more important than the individual
“I’ve learnt that teamwork is incredibly important and that individual performance sometimes has to take a back seat to effective collaboration within a team.” As a coach, Niek has also discovered that he has a significant influence on players’ development. By taking them out of their comfort zone and encouraging them to push their boundaries, he stimulates their personal growth and improves their skills.
Working together to achieve maximum results
Niek combines elements of football training with his work as a project manager at Traffic Today, and vice versa. “Working as a team and striving for maximum results are aspects I often see recurring in both.” He understands the importance of collaboration and utilising specialist knowledge to ensure projects are successful. “I’ve also learnt that you have to stand up for one another in challenging situations, whilst of course remaining professional.”
