Our approach

Step 1 – Getting to know each other

Before we start working on your objectives, we believe it is important that we understand exactly what your further aspirations and values are. After all, your website says a lot about who you are as a company: that is why we do not want to make changes to it lightly. Furthermore, it’s always nice to know who you’re dealing with: for both you and us. The first step in our process is therefore an introductory meeting, during which all these aspects will be clarified.

Step 2 – Competitor analysis

With Google Shopping, online shops can promote their products at the top of search results. Google Shopping scans various online shops and compares the results. This form of advertising is highly effective because it doesn’t look like an advert; instead, it gives customers the impression that they can shop directly. By structuring your advert correctly, this is effectively the case.

Step 3 – Keyword analysis

Once your position has been determined, we’ll delve deeper into the keywords. This is useful for various services that help you rank higher on Google, such as SEO and SEA. In this keyword analysis, we look not only at the search terms used by potential customers, but also at the competition for these keywords.

Step 4 – Implementation

Now that we have all the right data, it’s time to turn this strategy into results. Our specialists know exactly what it takes to execute this properly: whether it’s our Ads team or our content team – you can expect the right results!

Step 5 – Monitoring

A high ranking on Google is not something you achieve and then forget about: it is an ongoing process. That is why monitoring is so important: ‘ Traffic Today ’ ensures that current trends are constantly taken into account, and, thanks to a flexible approach, enables the agency to respond easily to these trends or other developments.

How can I rank higher on Google with SEO?

One key service that will help you rank higher on Google in 2026 is SEO. By utilising this service, you can optimise your website to align with the factors Google uses to determine search rankings. Examples of these include:

  • The quality of your content
  • Keyword usage in your website content
  • The user-friendliness of your website
  • The right backlinks

Climbing to the top position on the SERP is therefore a long-term process in which you make gradual progress. It is only after a month or two to three that you’ll notice your online growth has really taken off and that your Google rankings are contributing to increased traffic and perhaps even higher turnover. To achieve this, it is important that you address the three key components of search engine optimisation:

Our SEO marketers are flexible and up to date with the latest SEO developments. This enables us to guarantee you a high ranking on Google. SEO is not a one-off process: monitoring is also essential. Google regularly changes its ranking factors. Responding to these changes is very important, but it’s no problem at all for us. Interested? Why not get in touch with us!

How can I rank higher on Google in 2026? 10 tips!

Step 1 – Keyword research

Without keyword research, there’s no high ranking on Google. If you don’t identify which keywords are relevant to your website or online shop, there’s a risk you’ll prioritise keywords with limited search volumes. Keyword research tells you more about your current ranking for a specific search term, the difficulty of that term and missed opportunities compared to competitors. Aim for a mix of short-tail keywords (high competition) and long-tail keywords (lower competition). Keyword research forms the basis for content marketing.

Step 2 – Utilise content marketing

Content marketing is the first tool you use to achieve your goal of ranking higher on Google. By placing SEO-optimised content on your category pages, you provide the crawler with information about that specific page. Without text, the search engine will have absolutely no idea what you have to say to potential visitors. Since the ‘Helpful Content’ update (summer 2022), it has been more important than ever to provide information that answers the questions visitors are grappling with. Also ensure you use a clear heading structure (H1, H2, H3), keep sentences short for readability, address frequently asked questions, and use alt text for images.

Step 3 – Pay attention to your meta description and page title

The meta description and page title are the two pieces of text that Google displays on the SERP (search results page). Here you have the opportunity to promote your product or service in 50 to 160 words (meta description) and 50 to 66 characters (page title) respectively. Always include the most important keyword in both sections, identify a unique selling point and finish with a call to action to encourage the reader to take action.

Step 4 – Make your pages responsive

Another step you mustn’t overlook is making your web pages ‘responsive’. This means making your page mobile-friendly. If you skip this step, Google will penalise you for ignoring the ‘mobile-first’ principle. To rank higher in Google, the search engine considers it important that your website or online shop is suitable for all types of users. So, this is something to bear in mind!

Step 5 – Get your internal link building in order

Internal link building is another principle you mustn’t neglect. Internal link building involves linking from the relevant pages to related pages. For example: suppose you run a clothing webshop and have been writing the pages about jumpers for a while. Once you’ve finished the content on blue and red fleece jumpers, you’ll have reached the section on black fleece jumpers (/jumpers/fleece-jumpers/black). It is then relevant to include internal links to the main category (/jumpers), sub-category (/jumpers/fleece jumpers) and sub-sub-categories (/jumpers/fleece jumpers/red). Links to a category such as /jumpers/turtlenecks/black are less relevant, as they are too far removed from the main category. Supplement this with external link building (links on other sites).

Step 6 – Dive into the figures

Google provides a range of tools to assess the quality of your web pages. Google Analytics is the best-known example of this. Google Analytics tells you what the average session duration is (the time a visitor spends on a specific page), what the bounce rate is (the percentage of people who visit no more than one page at a time) and whether there is a noticeable increase in the number of organic visitors compared to last year. In addition, there are many more metrics you can extract from Analytics to help you achieve your goal of ranking highly on Google. Bear in mind that the results of your work often become visible within three months.

Step 7 – Conduct in-depth research

Figures don’t always tell the whole story. Sometimes you simply want to gain insight into how a visitor navigates your website. In that case, it can be helpful to use a CRO tool such as Hotjar. This tool shows where visitors drop off your website, which buttons they don’t understand and which features raise questions.

Step 8 – Pay attention to the Core Web Vitals

Core Web Vitals are another aspect you need to pay attention to if you want to rank higher in search results. Core Web Vitals is a Google metric that assesses your website based on three technical metrics. The speed at which your site loads, its responsiveness and its visual stability are the key factors. If you lack technical expertise, we recommend consulting a specialist such as Traffic Today .

Step 9 – Make use of blog marketing

To further develop your content marketing, you can expand your website using blog marketing. Blog marketing is a way of being found via search terms that do not necessarily relate directly to your ‘core’ service or product, whilst linking to relevant category pages. This strategy helps you build awareness amongst a wide audience and showcase your expertise online.

Step 10 – Utilise local SEO

Local SEO is another tip we’d like to share with you to help you rank higher on Google. Create local pages (online marketing Deventer) to be found by a regional target audience, or optimise your Google My Business profile. Google My Business is the business profile that appears on the right-hand side of the SERP and under ‘Maps’. Include relevant keywords here to give Google an idea of what your business specialises in.

How can I rank higher on Google using SEA?

Do you want to rank higher on Google? Then SEO alone isn’t the answer. You can achieve sustainable results with SEO. If you want to see quick results, we recommend using SEA. This means advertising on Google. You agree a fee with Google: every time someone visits your webpage via your advert, you pay this fee to Google. Google uses various bidding strategies to determine rankings, which are very similar to the strategies used on other platforms such as LinkedIn and Facebook, namely CPC and CPM.

An important part of SEA is determining which keywords you will advertise on. To do this, we look at which keywords are used to reach your website, but also at the level of competition for these terms. If competition for a popular keyword is very high, it may in fact be wiser to advertise on a different keyword with less competition.
