Good news! Following a significant expansion in 2016, Google is once again giving you more space for your search adverts from today. In total, you can now include 120 more characters to ensure your adverts appear even higher up in the search results. Two years ago, this led to companies seeing a 20 per cent increase in the click-through rates (CTR) of their adverts. We’re seizing this new development to take such big strides once again – together with you.
In short, this new development means you’ll have more scope and opportunities to set yourself apart from the competition. With more characters available, you can include more information. It’s therefore particularly beneficial that the headline can also be much more detailed, as it needs to grab the attention of visitors looking for what you have to offer. Instead of the two lines that were previously standard, you can now spread the headline across three lines. This alone offers ample opportunity to get far more potential customers to click on your advert. But the text within the advert itself has also been significantly expanded.
The description is no longer limited to 80 characters, but can now be expanded to a total of 180. This not only gives you the chance to provide Google visitors with as much information as possible about your product or service straight away, but also allows you to include a great deal more information in the text. And that presents opportunities. Opportunities that we’d be delighted to help you capitalise on.
Google first expanded its search adverts two years ago. At that time, adverts became 50 per cent larger, which resulted in a significant rise in click-through rates (CTR): advertisers saw these increase by as much as 20 per cent. With another expansion of around 50%, this development in Google search adverts is just as significant as the one in 2016, and we’re very keen to see what this will mean for you as our client. Will your CTR also rise by 20%?
Of course, as a client, you don’t have to do anything yourself. Our Google Ads specialists will get to work for you. They will be testing the larger search adverts in the coming period to see whether this development will lead to results just as impressive as those seen in 2016. Expectations are certainly high. We’re committed to boosting your visibility, providing users with even more information about your products or services, and making the most of this development!
