Steven Lubbers (Traffic Today) and Sander Geels (A-Players) were invited to visit Google Dublin this month. The visit focused on innovations, display targeting and other online marketing-related matters.
“Anouk de Jong, Agency Development Manager at Google, welcomed us. She gave us a tour of the impressive premises. We discussed new developments and how we can take our strategic partnership to the next level, ensuring that the quality of our services remains exceptionally high compared to the national average. As well as our own ongoing efforts in this area, Google also supports us and our clients in this regard.”
The split between Best4u and Traffic Today was also discussed. We explained to Google the differences between the two companies. Google itself had also noticed that Traffic Today had grown significantly over the past year in terms of staff numbers, certifications and ad spend. In short, Traffic Today has been successfully put on the map, and we are extremely proud of that.
Of course, a typical Google lunch (read: organised down to the last detail) was an essential part of the experience. The canteen boasted the largest salad bar we’ve ever seen. Eight types of olive oil, salmon, tuna, salad – in fact, everything you could possibly wish for was on offer. What I found particularly special was that staff could sign up for a pop-up. For example, if you’re really keen on prawns, you’ll receive a message when they’re being served in one of the restaurants. Brilliant!
The link between Traffic Today and Google is stronger than ever. Are there any significant innovations or training courses that are of interest to our sector? As an agency, we are kept informed immediately. In the coming period, we will be working together even more closely to ensure quality; this means we will visit each other more often and maintain close contact.
After some great conversations and a delicious lunch, it was time to try the traditional Irish beer, Guinness. I can sum that up succinctly: Delicious!
We returned to the Netherlands feeling very inspired – and not just in the field of online marketing, mind you. We already have a fruit bar here at Traffic Today , but perhaps we should introduce a salad bar here too!”
